Superpowers...
So as we are heading into this Christmas season (and because I watch this movie every year) I thought that this was appropriate. I think we get caught up in all the hustle and bustle of the season. And we forget that the things we can't see are some of the most important things in life. I mean just think about it, the one who created us, the savior of the world is unseen. He is the most real thing in this world. Even though we can't see Him He is just as real as you or me. I mean who wouldn't want a superpower like that?? To be unseen but felt, comforted, and healed; our God is pretty amazing. Despite what everyone might tell you superpowers are real. Good news, right! For instance in the bible Samson had super strength. In Judges 14 it said that he ripped a lion in two and then he struck down 30 men! In Exodus 7 we are told that Aaron throws down his staff and it becomes a snake and eats two other snakes! How great is our God that he can enable us to do such great things and have amazing "superpowers"! Now you may be thinking, "Well that was then and this is now so this is pretty irrelevant." but it really isn't. You see we have superpowers of our own. And like that quote says they are unseen. We have the power of prayer and the ability to impact others lives. You see prayer is the best superpower we could ever receive because that's where we see all the action. When we pray we enter into a battlefield and we fight with the power of the Holy Spirit. And when you're on God's side that devil doesn't have a chance! So next time you're watching that super awesome, action packed, superhero movie remember the superpower that God has given you.
